In August 2019, Joy FM’s mid-morning show, the Cosmopolitan Mix, embarked on a month-long weight loss challenge with its listeners.
The show, which attracted many Ghanaians including celebrities like Ama K Abeberese and on-air personalities like Lexis Bill and Doreen Avio, saw many participants reporting great results week after week.
Some of the changes in some participants' lives revolved not only around weight loss but health, good eating habits and exercises that paved the way for healthier living.

By popular request and need to help transform lives, the Cosmopolitan Mix team is bringing back the weight loss challenge.
The season two of the Weight Loss Challenge was launched on Thursday, on the Cosmopolitan Mix, hosted by Sammy Forson.

In this edition of the weight loss challenge, Clinical Biochemist and certified fitness trainer, Ada Enwere, will be joined by Registered Dietician, Nagumsi Nuhu, and Medical Doctor, Yaw Osafo, as the main advisers on the weight loss journey.
They will take participants through the needed instructions on how to pursue a healthy lifestyle while losing weight.
Other health experts would also be invited to the studio to share their own tips and provide guidance on healthy weight loss.
Just like in the first edition, producers of the show will also receive and play voice notes of participants, sharing their experiences in relation to weight loss and how to get the desired effects.
Lastly, the Cosmopolitan Mix team will also bring in some celebs to join the campaign.
The first free health screening will take place at the Labadi Beach Hotel, on Saturday, January 11, with the help of health professionals from Medicas Hospital.
Participants will be expected to record on the first day their weight before the exercises and maintain the momentum till the challenge ends.
The person with the highest weight loss, according to the team, will be rewarded.
The sessions of the weight loss challenge will take place every day of the week from 10 am to 12 noon with the host, Doreen Andoh.
This event is sponsored by Labadi beach Hotel, Medicas Hospital and Vivada Fitness Centre.
