Joy FM’s fun-filled social media campaign dubbed the Joy Jingle Challenge has seen a lot of creativity over the past few weeks. The challenge which requires its participants to mimic a vintage video has finally shortlisted 5 young creatives, each of whom dreams of taking home the ultimate prize.
On Sunday, August 14, all 5 participants successfully made it to the maiden studio session of the Joy Jingle Challenge on Joy 99.7 FM. Host Kofi Hayford reiterated that the winner of the jingle jets to Dubai in an all-expense paid trip in the month of September.
The participants; Lemmy, Ruby, Akosua, Nana Kwame and William couldn’t hide their eagerness to snatch the once-in-a-lifetime golden opportunity to see some of the famous tourist sites in the United Arab Emirates, without spending a dime. This motivated them to hop unto the Joy Jingle Challenge. They all shared their experiences with listeners and social media users during the live-stream program.

Lemmy, who is a first-time Tiktok user described it as a blessing to have joined the challenge. “I am new to Tiktok, and as I went about following my favourite brands, I saw the challenge on Joy FM’s handle and decided to join. It was fun doing it”. He added that, “I don’t want to go into the number of tries, but eventually I got it right and here I am”.
Nana Kwame, a videographer based in Accra also appreciated the chance to explore his creativity in the Joy Jingle Challenge, while Kumasi-based Akosua mentioned how impressed she was with other videos she came across and how they inspired her to join the challenge.
In the next few weeks, the Joy Jingle Challenge looks forward to selecting a winner out of the finalists. The subsequent episodes of the radio show will evict contestants, leading up to only 2 finalists in the grand finale. Eviction is based on the least number of votes and interactions across the various social media platforms.
Currently, all 5 videos have been posted on Joy FM and Joy Entertainment social media handles, and will require votes from social media users in the build-up to crowning the ultimate winner. In the end, the participant (video) that draws the most engagements – reactions, comments and shares – will be crowned the winner of the Joy Jingle Challenge.
Speaking on last Sunday’s Joy Jingle Challenge studio session, Programs Manager of Joy FM, Edem Knight-Tay, thanked all participants, including those who couldn’t make it to the final 5, for taking part in the exciting challenge on social media. In addressing the finalists, she disclosed, “now is the time to find out how impressed people are with your creativity. The more votes and interactions you accumulate, the higher your chances of winning the ultimate prize”.
The Joy Jingle Challenge was launched in July this year, and seeks to reward a lucky young listener or follower of the station who best mimics a vintage Joy FM promotion video. The winner of the challenge flies to Dubai in an all-expense paid round trip in September.
