A Retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Charles Hayfron-Benjamin has died.
Family sources say he died in the early hours of Monday after a short illness. He was 78 years old.
Justice Hayfron-Benjamin was a private legal practitioner and was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1993 and served in that position till he retired in 1999.
After his retirement in 1999 he continued working with the judiciary’s Continuing Legal Education programme till 2002.
Justice Hayfron-Benjamin attended Adisadel College and is survived by a wife, Dr. Doris Hayfron-Benjamin, a retired Ashanti Regional Director of Health Services, and a daughter.
