Real Madrid attacking midfielder Kaka says that he was pleased by the show of affection from Santiago Bernabeu faithful following his side's 4-1 win over Real Betis.
The midfielder, who was sidelined through injury for much of last season, received a standing ovation from the crowd after scoring his side's second goal of the Primera Division match on Saturday.
"The standing ovation I got made me happy,” the Brazilian is quoted as saying by Madrid’s official website. “It's important for me to keep improving.
“I think this is the third match I played next to [Mesut] Ozil. He is a very intelligent footballer. It's easy to play with him."
Kaka also congratulated his team-mate and Argentina international striker Gonzalo Higuain, who bagged a hat-trick in the match – his third in four appearances for club and country.
"Higuain has scored nine goals in four games and that's great,” enthused the 29-year-old. “He should be congratulated. We're all happy with his streak. “
Madrid are now second in the league standings with 16 points from seven matches, one behind bitter rivals Barcelona.
