Bibiani Gold Stars suffered a shock 1-0 loss at home against struggling Karela United in matchday 30 of the Ghana Premier League.
The Miners, were hoping to capitalize on Karela’s dismal form heading into the game, but what followed was a complete disaster for Frimpong Manso’s side.
Karela did brilliantly to thwart the efforts of Golden Stars’ blunt attack on the day, before Mohammed Sulemana struck home in the 43rd minute for what proved to be the winner.
The result lifts Karela out of the bottom three and knocks Gold Stars off the top of the table.
This was Gold Stars second successive defeat, and the Miners have now gone two games without scoring a goal.
