Residents of Kasoa-Opeikuma in the Central region are in shock as after a 25-year-old woman was killed by suspected robbers in the community.
The naked body of Ama Kwansema was then abandoned and was later found under a heap of garbage.
The residents who discovered the body say they suspect the victim was raped as she had been stripped naked.
Family members told Joy News’ Maxwell Agbagba that the deceased always walks from her family house to her workplace, about 300 metres away. She works as a housecleaner to keep body and soul together.
But Thursday’s routine was her last as the robbers snuffed the life out of her.
“Robbers who stormed her employers home later that afternoon made away with properties and murdered the Kwansema in cold blood,” the deceased’s brother Joseph told the reporter.
According to him, the perpetrators are people who probably live in the area who raped and killed her because she had identified them.
Joseph narrated to Joy News the harrowing story of how he found his sister dead and naked with her arms and neck broken.
“We had been calling her cell phone unendingly to no response until 12 pm when I decided to walk to her workplace to inquire. Then we discovered the body in a garbage heap.
“This place has become a haven for criminals and we are being terrorised here. And this is not the first time this is happening,” he said with fire in his eyes.
Kasoa-Opeikuma residents are calling on the police to pay attention to the security situation of the area.
The Assemblyman for the area, Nana Yaw Amoafo, said something urgently needs to be done.
