Managers and attendants of petrol filling stations have been asked to ensure that naked fires are about 50 yards away from their stations to avoid fire outbreak.
The Winneba District Police Commander, ASP Jordan Quaye gave the advice during a meeting with managers and attendants of petrol filling stations in and around Winneba.
He expressed concern about food vendors using naked fire near fuel stations and warned that petrol was highly inflammable and care must be taken to avoid disasters.
ASP Quaye urged the managers to be security conscious by closely monitoring people who visited their stations.
To discourage robbery at their stations he advised that managers and attendants take their sales to the banks during the day instead of keeping them at the offices.
