The Kensei-Kai Foundation on Saturday held a capacity-building workshop for senior high school karate instructors in partnership with the Ghana Karate-Do Federation, as part of efforts to standardize coaching across schools.
The program held at the Accra Sports Stadium focused on aligning school-based training with nationally approved technical standards. Instructors were taken through advanced kihon, practical kata application, structured kumite with clear safety protocols, grading benchmarks, and injury prevention techniques.
The aim was to ensure uniformity in instruction and raise the overall quality of karate development at the high school level.

Founder and Executive Director of the Foundation Dickson Enam Kwame Acolatse said the collaboration with the national governing body guarantees technical credibility and consistency across participating institutions. He stressed that the initiative goes beyond competition, positioning karate as a tool for discipline, leadership, and character development among students.
Representing the Ghana Karate authorities, Sensei Kwabena Poku praised the Foundation’s efforts and urged instructors to maintain professionalism, prioritize athlete safety, and uphold ethical coaching standards.
The Foundation reiterated its commitment to hosting regular technical workshops to strengthen grassroots development and establish a sustainable, nationally coordinated high school karate structure built on discipline and excellence.
