The Ketu North Health Directorate is considering seeking a court order to carry out an immunization exercise for some children in one of the communities.
Some parents in the community have refused to allow their children to be immunized because they claim their religious beliefs prohibit immunization.
Ketu North Director of Health, Faustina Amagashie-Aheto, told Joy News there is a need for urgent action to be taken to have the children immunized.
He accused a pastor of a church with branches spread across the community of preaching religious doctrines which prevent members of the church from using orthodox medicines.
According to her, the pastor boasts of his religious prowess after reviving a young boy who allegedly died after being immunized some few years ago.
She said the pastor and his doctrines have made their immunization drive almost impossible.
She said they are considering taking a court action to allow for the immunization to be undertaken.
