The Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin constituency in Kumasi, Isaac Osei has advised Ghanaians to vote the (National Democratic Congress) NDC out of power during the 2012 general elections. “Kick the NDC out in 2012,” were the exact words of the MP when some market women told him about the challenges they were facing. Hon. Osei, aka ‘Bohyeba’, said Ghanaians had the power to send the NDC to eternal opposition in the next polls. According to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP, the constitution had given the mandate to every Ghanaian, who was above 18 years, to exercise their franchise through the ballot box, adding that Ghanaians should vote for the NPP in the next general elections. Hon Osei stated that it was only the NPP that had the right caliber of people and expertise to solve the country’s numerous problems which had been created by the NDC. The Subin MP made these remarks when he visited the Kumasi Central market last Friday. He noted that Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, the NPP’s flagbearer, had sent him to console the market women who had been affected by the recent floods. The market place was virtually turned into a rally ground, as the red, white and blue colours of the NPP were seen being waved at every corner of the market, amid shouting that “NPP is the best party for Ghana.” He urged the people to register when the electoral register is opened and vote massively for the NPP in 2012. “You have lost your wares but you have not lost your thumb which you will use to send the NDC out of office,” Hon. Osei said, promising to task the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to ensure that the market was being swept regularly. The Vice President of the Cloth Sellers Association, Kumasi Central market, Abena Tia, said they were very sad when the floods destroyed their wares. According to her, government had done nothing about their predicament, so she praised the NPP and Nana Addo for sending the Subin MP to console them. Madam Tia said though they paid tax on a daily basis, those who had been tasked to sweep the markets by the KMA had stopped sweeping the market, appealing to the Subin MP to intervene on their behalf.
