A victim of the accident on the Techiman-Kintampo highway on Tuesday, May 18, has died 24 hours after being hospitalised.
Shaibu Salam, 21, was one of two men who were knocked down by a truck after the driver lost control and veered off the road.
The truck with registration number AS 4673 Y hit the two men, Salam and Abdul Aziz, 34, who were standing in front of their welding shop at the time of the incident.

The two were rushed to the Techiman Holy Family Hospital for treatment but Salam died at about 12: 00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Aziz who is in a critical condition is still receiving treatment at the same hospital. He told Joy News "we had just returned from the bank and we were getting off a motorbike in front of our shop when the incident happened,"
The police suspect the driver was a conductor (a driver's mate) who was inexperienced in driving, hence his inability to control the truck.
Joy News' Anass Sabit reports that the driver bolted, but the owner of the truck has handed himself over to the police.
