The Deputy General Sercertary for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has refuted claims by Managing Editor for the Ghanaian Lens, Kobby Fiagbe that he (Adams) is a traitor in the party.Kobby Fiagbe accused Kofi Adams of thwarting efforts at reconciling the NDC leadership and the Rawlingses in order to perpetuate the rift between the two pillars in the ruling party. In the Ghanaian Lens publication of Tuesday March 20, 2012, Kobby Fiagbe accused Kofi Adams of plotting with a top New Patriotic Party (NPP) member to ensure that President Mills does not get re-elected.The plot began soon after the Sunyani Congress following the defeat to Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings-Mr. Adams’ preferred candidate. The Ghanaian Lens editor named Asare Otchere-Darko, Executive Director of the pro-NPP think tank; Danquah Institute and publisher of the New Statesman newspaper, as Kofi Adams’ link to the top echelons of the NPP.Kobby Fiagbe initially declined to name the said contact, insisting Kofi Adams should rather confess. But in a sharp rebuttal, Kofi Adams denied having a secret pact with the NPP to derail President Mills’ re-election bid.Reacting to Kobby Fiagbe’s allegations on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Tuesday, Kofi Adams said he is not bothered by such publications.‘I’m not bothered, it will not go into my body, it does not touch me, I don’t want to waste my time on useless speech. I am bigger and tougher than this useless speech, because I have gone through all (these things before)’ he stressed.Kofi Adams who is also the Spokesperson for former President Rawlings added that he has been in politics for quite a long time and this is not the first time such articles have been written about him.Mr. Adams said one could not behave in such a manner at the office of the former president, stressing ‘you will not misbehave when working with former President Rawlings.
