Kofi Adams, the suspended deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress Thursday rubbished the government’s communication team, saying members of the team have been trained to peddle lies about people. On Friday’s edition of Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning programme, the embattled NDC man called a fellow NDC man, Gabby Assumeng who is also a member of the government communication team a “great liar”.Kofi Adams was infuriated when Gabby Assumeng claimed that when he (Kofi Adams) was summoned by the NDC National Executive to respond to his alleged plot with the NPP to oust Mills, he excused himself to attend other personal issues, cleverly escaping answering questions relating to his conduct. The statement by the NDC communication team member did not go down well with Kofi Adams who revealed that Gabby Assumeng was never part of the said meeting hence the categorical statement he made was based on attempts to malign him.An infuriated Kofi Adams described Gabby Assumeng and the Communication’s team as “lying agents”, and “agents of falsehood” who have been given scripts to lie in order to sully the integrity of people, a statement Gabby Asumeng flatly denied.Gabby Assumeng, who admitted he was not present at the said NEC meeting, challenged the embattled NDC deputy General Secretary to disclose what actually transpired at the said meeting.Kofi Adams, who is also spokesperson for the Rawlingses, urged the show host, Kwami Sefa Kayi not to tolerate persons like Gabby Assumeng on his programme since they don’t speak the truth.A deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party, John Boadu said the NDC communications team should be bold enough and respond to challenges thrown by Martin A.B.K Amidu, a former Attorney General, in respect of persons he named as having played roles in the Woyome saga.
