Highlife musician Kofi Kinaata says he now has intentions to release an album after years of being in the industry.
Speaking to JoyPrime’s Ibrahim Ben-Bako, he stated that his decision was influenced by the demand of fans who are interested in hearing and appreciating his works.
This comes after the singer had earlier revealed he was reluctant to work on an album.
Kofi Kinaata explained that, at the time, he despised how people treated an album thus, there was no motivation to create, produce and promote one.
He stated that fans usually select a few songs from the album while others remain unpopular regardless of how good they are.
“Samini for instance you take his album and he has a whole lot of nice songs on it. But people will take like two songs because that was the song the station played.
"They will say those two songs are good. But if Samini was promoting the songs one after the other, all of them could have been hit songs,” he said.
The four-time VGMA Songwriter of the Year said he preferred to release singles than a body of work where some songs will not get as much attention as others.
However, as much as he does music for himself, the fans are also interested in what he does, Kofi Kinaata said, adding that the fans’ interest matters.
He said that because his fans have been asking for an album he changed his stance of not putting out one.
"So you will have it [an album] very soon," the 'Things Fall Apart' hitmaker added.
