American Entrepreneur Sheena Lindhal, says successful Ghanaian entrepreneurs must mentor, incubate and support nascent entrepreneurs to build their capacity if the country is to successfully build a robust business community.
Sheena, a co-founder of advisory services firm Empact, was speaking during a courtesy call at the offices of Ghanaian Private Equity Firm, Brownstone Capital.
The award winning entrepreneur was on a working visit to Ghana on behalf of the US State Department.
Sheena commended Directors and staff of Brownstone for taking up the challenging task of providing private equity financing for businesses in Ghana and encouraged them to dig deeper to provide technical assistance to young entrepreneurs.
That she said is necessary to help them reduce the mistakes that lead to business failures. “It is critical that we provide entrepreneurs with these tools that will help them succeed in an increasingly difficult business landscape. This would go a long way to assist start-ups succeed.”
On his part Mr Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, a Director of Brownstone Capital, called on seasoned entrepreneurial educators to assist start-ups with coaching and mentoring.
“The knowhow to structure and manage a business is even more important than throwing money at start-ups. If we collaborate to educate our younger brothers and sisters, we improve their chances of success in business,” the former Joy FM Super Morning Show host said.
Empact is an organization that equips young entrepreneurs with technical skills in America and other parts of the world.
Brownstone Capital is an African Private equity firm that provides funding and advisory services for entrepreneurs and business promoters in Ghana.
