Director of Communications at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho has issued a stern warning to any group of persons or individuals, who may want to cause anarchy and destabilize the country.
His comments comes after President Mills, in his 3rd State of the Nation's address, said he had ordered the country’s security agencies to deal decisively with people who may want to disturb the peace in the country.
Koku Anyidoho on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday noted that President Mills, as Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, has assured Ghanaians that he will safeguard the security of the nation adding that “he(President Mills) will not sit idly by to allow a group of war mongers to beat the war drums and destabilize the country for parochial and selfish interest”.
He however refuted allegations that President Mills’ comment is not in response to Nana Akufo-Addo’s 'all die be die' comment but to caution all Ghanaians who have planned to disturb the peace in the country.
“Any group of persons or any individuals who want to test the resolve of his Excellency President Mills should just dare him and they will see. They want to see the other side of the president: they should just make the wrong move and the law of this country will deal with them decisively without fear or favour. Let them dare” he said.
Koku Anyidoho stressed that President Mills’ promise to reopen all drug related cases is not a lip service because it is important the whole country get answers to certain critical questions relating to the drug issue and not an attempt to just chase people around.
“Ghana has suffered enough ignominy in a certain sphere of our history vis-a-vis the drug issue and it is only important that we unearth all the issues for Ghanaians to know and put things in historical perspective," he stressed.
