Information and Media Relations Minister, Mahama Ayariga says the late Komla Dumor raised the bar of journalism with his passion and drive for excellence.
The 41-year-old BBC star presenter was found dead at his home in London Saturday, January 18 after suffering what was reported to be cardiac arrest.
According to Mr. Ayariga, the late Komla Dumor, who worked with Joy FM for a decade before joining the BBC in 2006, was passionate about his job and was very much interested in using the BBC platform to promote a new breed of African leaders.
Mr. Ayariga was speaking on the Super Morning Show shortly after he signed the book of condolence opened in Komla's memory, in the company of his two deputies - Murtala Mohammed and Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

"He's contributed to changing the face of journalism in this country...we hope that all of us will be inspired by what we are hearing everybody say about his professionalism and his practice and that we will all be inspired by that, to aspire to those standards or even set higher standards for the practice of journalism in our country," the minister noted.
A former Information Minister in John Agyakum Kufour government, Stephen Asamoah Boateng was also full of praise for the ace broadcaster, when he took his turn to offer condolences to the family and friends of Komla Dumor.
Mr. Asamoah Boateng, popularly called "Asa B" revealed that politicians were nervous whenever they had an interview with Komla Dumor because he asked very incisive questions.
"His legacy was that every politician who walks here [Joy FM] and Komla was here you would be panicking... he will push you. It gave some us the ability to do more work and also to know that you are talking to somebody who knows his job and you've got to really get your facts right," Asa B recounted.
