Information available to Joy News points to the fact that Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings might have indeed attended the meeting of the Council of Elders of the National Democratic Congress and declared her interest to lead the party in the 2012 elections.Sources close to the Council will not go on record but confirm to Joy News under conditions of anonymity that the former First Lady came to the meeting in the company of her husband and told the Council she was interested in contesting the slot.The sources say the meeting was held last Tuesday and chaired by chairman of the Council of Elders, Harry Sawyerr.The Daily Guide newspaper reported that members of the Council were shocked when Nana Konadu announced her intention to run.However, NDC executives have been denying reports that the former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings has declared her intention to contest the party’s presidential primaries for the 2012 election.NDC Greater Accra Regional chairman, Ade Coker told Joy News the Former First Lady’s presidential ambition did not come up for discussion at the meeting.Story by Joy News/Ghana
