Junior nurses at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital have abandoned the wards.
This is a reaction to management’s failure to pay their salary as promised on Monday.
Hospital authorities prevailed on the nurses to suspend their intended strike yesterday promising to pay their first salary in nearly two years latest today.
But the nurses say that was yet to materialize.
Diana Marfo who speaks for the nurses confirmed to Joy News that his colleagues did not receive their salary as promised by management.
She said most of them went back home disappointed after waiting for hours.
Diana Marfo said even though management asked them to come for their monies at 4pm tomorrow, they, the nurses, suggested Thursday morning in order to give management the space to solve any problem.
