Asante Kotoko captain Frederick Asare has returned to first team training after recovering from a ligament injury.
The goalkeeper rejoins his teammates in training after completing his rehabilitation program in record time.
Asare has been out of action for than a month after sustaining the latest in a lingering knee injury.
His last Kotoko appearnce was on December 21, 2024 when he was an unused substitute in the Kotoko's 2-1 win away to Dreams F.C in the Ghana Premier League.
Since then, goalkeeping responsibilities have been shared between Mohammed Camara - who has been the club's first choice in the league, and Fatawu Seidu, who was in the post for the FA Cup round of 32 win over Accelere8z F.C.
Last week, the club announced that Asare had taken the first steps in his rehabilitation program.
His is expected to be available for selection when third-placed Kotoko host Karela United at the Baba Yara Stadium in the first match of the second round.
Asare has made six appearances in the Ghana Premier League this season, after making eighteen appearances last season, twenty-one and thirty respectively, in the seasons before.
