Swedish side Trelleborgs FF have signed Asante Kotoko forward Abdul Fatawu Safiu on a season-long loan with an option to make it permanent.
"We continue to strengthen on the attack side. Now through 25-year-old forward Fatawu Safiu from Ghana,” Trelleborgs FF posted on their official website.
"The contract is valid for the 2019 season with an option for an additional two years.”
Safiu has been an integral figure in the Porcupine Warriors set up since joining from Eleven Wonders FC last year.
The former Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps youngster netted thrice and assisted two in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup.
He also scored 11 goals to help Asante Kotoko to clinch the Special Competition Tier 1 giving them the opportunity to represent Ghana in the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League.
Following his outstanding performances for the Red side, Safiu was included in Ghana's provisional squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
