Former President John Agyekum Kufuor left Accra Friday night for a three-day visit to Geneva, Switzerland, to attend the Governing Council meeting of Interpeace, the world-wide peace organization backed by the United Nations.
President Kufuor who is the first African chair of the Interpeace Council, will participate in the Partners Forum session – during which he will meet with donors and supporters of the organization.
He will brief the media on his stewardship of the organization in the past year and highlight major activities undertaken in the 17 countries that they operate in through Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
While in Geneva, President Kufuor will give a lecture on “Leadership for Africa's Tomorrow” at the famous Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, the prestigious pioneering institute in the training of diplomats which dates back to the 1920s and founding of the League of Nations later transformed into the United Nations.
He will be away for about a week.
