President J.A. Kufuor, also the African Union chairman, is expected to attend a United Nations summit which will highlight African broadband connectivity in Kigali, Rwanda, on 29 and 30 October.The Connect Africa Leaders' Summit aims to strengthen the Connect Africa partnership, which seeks to expand the ICT infrastructure on the continent, especially with regards to broadband Internet. It also wants to attract investment to Africa's ICT sector.Rwanda's President Paul Kagame is also expected to attend the summit.African Union Commission Chairman Alpha Oumar Konare, African Development Bank President Donald Kaberuka and Intel Chairman Craig Barrett, who is also Chairman of the UN Global Alliance for ICT and Development, will also be there, along with World Bank Group President Robert Zoellick.Civil society and heads of various international banks and corporations will also be present.The sessions are being designed for television, in order to encourage interactive participation.
