An Executive Council member (EXCO) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Nana Oduro Sarfo, has explained Kurt Okraku's absence from recent football happenings is due to illness.
Okraku has been bashed for his silence in the wake of the death of Asante Kotoko fan, Francis Frimpong (Nana Pooley) and the developments in the aftermath of the unfortunate incident in Nsoatre.
According to Oduro Sarfo, the 54-year-old's inactiveness is not intentional.
During the GFA and Ghana League Clubs Association's meeting with Kotoko's board earlier on Tuesday, February 11 he stated, "Kurt Okraku is currently unwell, and out of the country, which has prevented him from commenting on the tragic event."
"He would have been the first person to visit the camp of Kotoko. When he's fit and arrives in the country safely, he will be here (to meet Kotoko)."
Pooley was stabbed at the Ghana Premier League matchday 19 fixture between Nsoatreman FC and Kotoko at the Nana Koromansah II Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors have currently pulled out of any sporting-related activities as they seek justice for the deceased.
They joined forces with their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak to release a joint statement, seeking major security reforms, asking for the league to be played under an autonomous governing body, and increased telecasting rights among others.
