The late former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John, will be laid to rest on Thursday, June 3, 2021.
The body of Sir John will be laid in state at Sakora Wonoo Junior High School, in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti region, from the morning of Wednesday, June 2 to Thursday, June 3. This will be followed by burial service.

The mortal remains of the affable former Chief Executive of the Forestry Commission will later be put to rest at the Sakora Wonoo family cemetery.
The Thanksgiving service will take place at Sakora Wonoo Seventh Day Adventist Church on Saturday, June, 5.
Sir John died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Wednesday, July 1, 2020 after testing positive for Covid-19.
