The police in Kwahu-Praso in the Eastern Region are investigating the cause of death of a man who was run over by a tractor. The incident allegedly occurred last Friday, December 24 and the driver of the tractor is on the run. Joy News sources allege the police initially did not show interest in the matter. Some residents of the area suspect foul play. Joseph Adu, one of the relatives assisting police investigations told Joy News on Sunday afternoon the police was yet to visit the scene of the incident. He said when the incident happened, the tractor operator took the dead body to another person to be given to relatives while he himself absconded. Joseph Adu claims when the issue was reported to the police, the police advised that they should go and settle the case. “When we came to the police station, we spent about four hours here and there was no policeman to attend to us,” he said. Inspector Daniel Kwapong, Officer in charge of the Kwahu-Praso Police station confirmed the story but denied allegations that the police did not show interest in the case when it was first reported. He said the case was being investigated. Source: Joy News/Ghana
