The Policy Adviser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwaku Kwateng has accused Ben Ephson editor of the Daily Dispatch newspaper of being the local agent for Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU).
He said “it is surprising that any report from EIU is published by only the Daily Dispatch. Ben Ephson only publishes EIU reports on the economy when it is against the NPP”.
The Economist Intelligence Unit, world leader in global business intelligence, is a specialist publisher which has for the past 60 years, been a source of information on business developments, economic and political trends. It has delivered vital business intelligence to influential decision-makers around the world.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, on a publication by the Daily Dispatch with the headline EIU analysis shows NPP government responsible for the current economic wahala in Ghana, Kwaku Kwateng noted that the publication is the work of Ben Ephson and not by the EIU.
He questioned why the EIU did not have an office in the country and yet only Ben Ephson has access to their publications.
He stressed that“Ben Ephson should publish reports which will contribute to the development of the country rather than concentrating on the NPP”.
Meanwhile Ben Ephson has refuted the allegation saying “I don’t work for EIU and I will not claim credit for a work I have not done”.
“I am not afraid to own up for the work I have done, I would be proud to claim ownership if I did that analysis”.
