Former Ghana head coach, Kwesi Appiah, has refused to rule out coaching the senior national team, the Black Stars when given another opportunity.
The 59-year-old is regarded as one of the local coaches who has been given the best opportunities to work with the senior national football team.
Following Ghana’s abysmal output at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the then Ghana Football Association parted ways with Kwesi Appiah.
However, he was reappointed in April 2017 to replace former Chelsea and West Ham manager, Avram Grant.
The Kurt Okraku led administration, however, decided not to renew Kwesi Appiah’s contract. C.K. Akonnor, who replaced Ibrahim Tanko as Black Stars assistant, has been awarded a two-year deal as the new Ghana coach.
“This is coaching and you don’t rule out any opportunity but it will depend on the conditions,” he told Asempa FM.
Asked if he regrets coaching the Black Stars, the 59-year-old insisted he has no regrets adding that it was an opportunity to coach the senior national football team.
“I think it was an opportunity to coach the Black Stars because we have many coaches in the country and for you to coach the Black Stars, it is a big opportunity.
“There were issues but I have no regrets,” he added.
He also disclosed that the Ministry of Sports is yet to pay his six months arrears.
