The first move, how to tell that person how you really feel is always...always difficult. It’s a burden for women especially because tradition puts the responsibility on the man. But what happens when the tables are turned? Does the guy get intimidated or turned on when their women first step?

A male friend of mine told me a story about how a lady got his jaw to drop (yeah, literally) at a party when she approached him and said Kwesi (a coworker who was also at the party) had asked for a date but she has rejected it and would prefer a date my friend instead.

Paul (my friend) called me and said “you won’t believe it, Linda just asked me out on a date. I am shocked but on the other hand I think it is really sexy and really attractive”.

So I decided that this will make an interesting topic so why not hit the streets and asked the guys how they really felt or how they will feel is a lady asks them out, and this is what I got:

"A female friend of mine from the University and I met for dinner one Friday evening after work. We weren’t sure if it was date or just a friendly dinner but we had it anyway. Just when we settled at the restaurant, she started taking about her previous relationships and how bad they’ve ended. This got me thinking, well...this might be a just a friendly dinner after all. The next time we met was her birthday party in her house. I was the last person to leave but before I did we had a lengthy chat until I got tired, then I left. Just when I was about moving my car she sent me a text saying “I don’t really mind if you stayed you know”. The speed at which I ran back to the house cannot be measured”….Mike

"Some years back I was taking French lessons and at that time I was seriously ‘gnashing’ and need of a girlfriend. My first wish when I signed up for the class was to meet a sweet lady I could date. The first thing I noticed when I got to the class was a fair lady sitting at the far corner of the class, mehn she was beautiful. After a few lessons when I was fully convinced that she would be nice, I approached her and asked for her number. Just when she was about to give me the number another guy pulled away. I thought all hope was lost but she surprised me. She came back and said “I think is should take your number, we need to talk more about the lessons today”. I was beside myself with joy. I felt my head was going to explode. It was really surprising but it only got me more attracted to her”….Joe

"My girlfriend and I had dated for about two weeks, yet we hadn’t kissed (strange right). We went for a club’s picnic, we had so much fun by the time were returning, both of us were so tired it was written all over our faces. But like the gentleman I am, I made sure I took her home and while I was at it, I carried her back and the ice chest she came along with. Just when she was about to open the door (as I thought) she leaned forward and gave me the most memorable kiss I’ve ever had – until now”….Max

"There was a lady friend of mine I had a huge crush on but we were really good friends and I didn’t want to bring up an issue like that to embarrass myself, so I was silent. One day just after our usual hangouts, when I had stopped a tax for her, she stood on her toes and gave me a peck. I couldn’t believe it, right there I knew something was going to happen...something good. We started dating shortly after and we still are….Kwame

"I was seriously dancing my head off at a party during a final year student’s jam organised by my university when I spotted this tall and slim lady in the crowd. Well..we used to have something going on in the past, nothing serious though. She vanished for about 20 minutes after I spotted her. When she reappeared, she came to me and said “I think I’m a little tipsy but I think I want to be in your arms tonight. What do you think?” I could hear myself stammer, when I regained ‘consciousness” I took her to her hostel and stayed in her room until morning. Although we didn’t do anything, I thought it was really hot for her to have said that"...Elton
