The Tema Regional Police Command has begun investigations into the murder of three persons and alleged suicide involving a police Lance Corporal with the Rapid Development Force (RDF) in Tema, Monday evening.
Greater Accra Region police spokesperson ASP Juliana Obeng confirmed the incident to Myjoyonline.com but will give no further details, not even the identity of the Lance Corporal.
The deceased persons included children, she indicated.
Myjoyonline.com is learning the deceased persons belong to the same family.
The motive for the murder and suicide are yet to be ascertained. ASP Juliana Obeng said the police have begun investigations into the possible case of homicide and will provide details in due course.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the Lance Corporal, identified as Wilfred Amuzu, booked a rifle in the office for guard duties only to go home and commit the gory act.
Myjoyonline has also learnt one of the deceased persons was the mother-in-law of the police man with the two others being his biological children.
The mother-in-law was said to be bathing her grandchild when the Lance Corporal shot her and the baby, killing them both, after which he shot another of his babies and committed suicide.
Myjoyonline.com sources say the policeman was abusive of his wife and that on a recent late evening surprise visit by the Inspector General of Police, John Kudalor, to the Tema Regional Police headquarters, he had met a woman lodging a complaint of assault at the nearby Railways & Port Police Station where Amuzu was stationed.
They alleged when the IGP inquired and was told the suspect was an officer, he allegedly directed his detention overnight until he was given bail the next day.
