Beaming, Nii Lantey vowed to live with Diana Krampah, formerly of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s Twin-City FM in Sekondi, for better or for worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health. Nii Lantey, who DAILY GUIDE gathered lost his first wife some years ago, took his newfound lover, Diana to the altar last Saturday in a white ‘jumper’ shirt with a beautifully-designed violet Kente cloth, while the wife was also dressed in a beautiful white and violet wedding gown. There was excitement at the forecourt of the Hillcrest Annex when the couple took to the floor to dance, as many of the dignitaries and well-wishers, mostly made up of activists of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), joined them. The venue for the talk-of-the-town wedding ceremony was also filled to capacity as hundreds of NDC members and sympathizers from all parts of the Western and the Greater Accra regions thronged there in big buses. Most of the party faithfuls were dressed in party colours and other paraphernalia as if the ceremony was a political rally. The wedding also attracted some bigwigs in Ghana sports including Alhaji Sly Tetteh of Liberty Professionals, Nana Sam Brew-Butler, former chairman of the Ghana Football Association and Ike Bazooka Quartey, former WBC champion. Also present were some ministers of state including the Western Regional Minister, Paul Evans Aidoo and his deputy, Betty Bosumtwi-Sam, Ama Benyiwa Doe, Central Regional Minister, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa, deputy Information Minister and Zita Okaikoi, Minister of Tourism among others. Preaching the sermon on the theme ‘Face to Face’, Venerable Samuel Addison, Parish Priest and Archdeacon of the Takoradi Diocese of the Anglican Church, urged the couple to be each other’s keeper even as they lived together. He said marriage was instituted by God and that neither of them should think of breaking the vows they had exchanged. He prayed for God’s blessings for the couple and urged them to continue to worship their Maker in spirit and in truth. After the sermon, the parish priest led the couple to exchange the wedding vows, after which the family members of the bride and the groom witnessed the signing of the marriage certificate by the couple. There was a lot to eat and drink during the reception, as the caterers of the plush Hillcrest Annex prepared a variety of sumptuous meals for the enjoyment of all who attended. Source: Daily Guide
