Mike Ocquaye Jnr, Lawyer for Nana Darkwa-Barfi, has denied claims he went to court through the back door to free his client.
The NPP social commentator was standing trial for accusing ex-president Rawlings of setting fire to his ridge residence in February.
He was discharged by the court yesterday for wont of prosecution.
But Lawyer David Annan, who has been assisting state prosecutors as counsel for ex-president Rawlings’ aide in the case, accuses his colleague of breach of faith.
He told Joy FM's Dzifa Bampoe that what happened in court on Wednesday was extremely dishonest on the part of the defence because the parties were not supposed to be in court in the first place.
But Nana Darkwa’s lawyer, Mr. Ocquaye Jnr. said the accusations are baseless.
“We disagreed with the proposal for an apology but all that came was that, basically for three months after this proposal was made, the case has now been dropped for wont of prosecution. …it is not true that I acted in bad faith,” he maintained.
Meanwhile the Attorney General’s Department has told Joy News Nana Darkwa will be re-arrested.
