Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, former Education Minister, has outlined a leadership philosophy centred on service and human impact as he positions himself in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential race.
The Bosomtwe MP is one of the aspirants seeking to lead the party into the next general election.
According to Dr Adutwum, leadership should not be judged by personal achievement or political elevation, but by the number of people whose lives are improved along the way.
“Leadership is not about how high you rise, but how many lives you lift along the way,” he said, emphasising inclusive and people-focused governance.
The Bosomtwe MP noted that listening is a critical element of effective leadership, particularly in a diverse society with varied needs.
He explained that leaders must be willing to engage citizens, understand their concerns and respond with practical and compassionate solutions.
“I choose to lead by listening, serving and standing with the people,” Dr Adutwum stated, adding that leadership must be grounded in service rather than authority.
He stressed that standing with the people means sharing in their struggles and working collaboratively to address national challenges.
The remarks, shared under the hashtag #TheAdutwumFactor, reflect the former Education Minister’s vision as he campaigns within the NPP.
His message reinforces a leadership style anchored in humility, accountability and a commitment to improving lives across the country.
