A Deputy Communications Director for the opposition New Patriotic Party, John Boadu has accused government of "deliberately attempting to vilify persons and organisations" indicted in the report by the ministerial committee that investigated the alleged fraud at GYEEDA.In order to clear itself of any such charge, John Boadu says it is imperative that government makes the report public as a matter of necessity.A five-member committee chaired by Mr. Ferdinand Gunn last week submitted to president John Mahama, a report on the investigations it conducted into activities of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA).The committee among others, recommended total review of the operations of GYEEDA as well as terminate alleged fraudulent contracts the Agency entered with some service providers.Speaking on Ekosii Sen on Asempa FM Tuesday, Mr. Boadu said it was the responsibility of government to protect the interest of the service providers named in the committee's report, as those companies and individuals have yet to be given an opportunity to state their side of the issue.He questioned the haste with which the report was leaked to the media "just ten minutes" after it was handed to president Mahama by Youth and Sports Minister, Elvis Afryie Ankrah, whereas the affected persons have not been handed copies."This could be a deliberate attempt to vilify the companies mentioned in the report; their [individual] human rights are being abused...that is why the report must be out," charged the former National Youth Organiser for the opposition political party.
