The leadership of the Students' Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ghana (UG) has relieved the Vice President of the SRC, Nii Adokwei Codjoe of his position.
The decision was taken at a General Assembly meeting on Thursday, April 24, 2008.
A letter to the Vice Chancellor signed by Ms Carol Serwaa Donkor, President of the SRC, said a motion was moved on the floor of the meeting to relieve the Vice President of his position and take away his privileges.
It said the motion was put to vote after members had spoken to it, with 18 members voting for the motion and none voting against it. The letter said, by the outcome of the meeting, the Vice President of the SRC ceases to act in any official capacity or assume any power on behalf of the SRC.
