We NPP Northamptonshire Chapter, UK (NNC), are of the view that, it's about time people who profess to be leaders are seen to be pre-occupied with not only unity of purpose but also, unity of action. This we hold, as what will yield us (NPP) the ultimate end ie. power. Not allowing personal end taking precedence over the party's aims.
It is against this backdrop that NNC appeals to all – every fabric of the party; to be seen pursuing the greater good. Indeed, anything deficient of this amounts to relegating ideals and values of the pioneers of this great party. Anything else, overly defies the patriotic outlook.
Clearly it is the humble political desire of NPP Northamptonshire Chapter to see collaborative and concerted efforts on all fronts. This will be evidential testament to the fact that both in shape and form, we are truly serious at rescuing political power so as to salvage Ghanaians from the incompetent current government they are plagued with.
Again, all on accounts, it has become imperative to present a formidable united front. It is against this principle that we do passionately appeal to all flag-bearer aspirants, their protégé and supporters to be driven by the bigger picture and desist from castigating fellow contestants. This is not only inimical but counter-productive politically.
We urge all players involved to be positive-driven, and productive-attitude oriented. Positive Attitude, we feel will play a pivotal role in the 2016 elections.
Fundamentally, posterity shall never pardon us (NPP) if, our actions and inactions are informed by parochial interests. In fact, good leadership dictates as a matter of rule of thumb and good practice, that the leader portrays the right attitude and a shift in paradigm where needed.
The “each one for himself and God for us all” practice has no place in a political party that the whole Ghana is desperately awaiting for both economic and political salvation.
We are of the ardent view that it is better to have an NPP ruling president in a person of one that you dislike and may have contested against during the primaries than what we are currently witnessing.
What this does, we contend is, it gravitates our political and economic aspirations on upward pedestal towards achieving the Ghanaian dream.
On this basis do we espouse that, until we support whoever emerges as flag bearer, we will be starting on a dysfunctional premise, which makes our goals and objectives redundant if not impossible. Therefore it is crucial that we support whoever wins the leadership of the party.
Yes, we are not oblivious of the virtues of political practice, it is utterly inevitable to have equally competent personalities, by nature of our party, we are endowed with enormous talents capable of leading us to victory.
This is a great party with rich heritage. Ofcourse, democracy requires that we compete and the NPP’s foundation stems from this noble practice.
Indeed, if we all agree to the fact that there is a common objective which ought to bind us all. We ought to be driven by this objective, which take precedence over individual short-sighted ones, especially when the flag bearer contest is over and a new leader has been announced.
We do not think what we are appealing for has never been practised. In the U.S, both Mr Biden and Mrs Clinton are testament to the fact that it is politically expedient and a demonstration of political maturity to support your party's leader when contest for flagbearership comes to an end, and as the party is faced with the ultimate bigger picture.
We again hold that NPP led leadership in government has the propensity to further enhance Ghanaians fortunes than any party led government. If our proposition is sound and meaningful, then, NPP Northamptonshire Chapter humbly appeals to all contestants to rally behind whoever emerges as the flag bearer for election 2016.
The stakes are high and we cannot afford to disappoint the Ghanaian people. Election 2016 is critical not only to Ghanaians, but our neighbours and people from all walks of life and above all, generations to come will not forgive us if we breach this trust, because of parochial interests and egos.
NPP has done it before and wholly believe we shall do it again. Consensus becomes paramount, right attitude becomes crucial. To this end, we hope that in all things, we put Ghana first and salvage her from current impoverish predicament.
