All 47 Liberian refugees remanded by a court in Cape Coast will reappear today. The suspects, 45 males and two females, have been charged with rioting and conspiracy to commit crime. They were arrested two weeks ago when police officers stormed the Budumburam Refugee Camp to stop the election of a new welfare council. Police say the refugees acted against an agreement reached with the UNHCR and the Ghana Refugees Board. Meanwhile the refugee board says it is working on proposals to bring closure to the issue.
