The surroundings of a particular area at any opportune time determine the health of the individuals within that area.
When an area is clean, the people living in that area hardly fall ill but in a filthy area the inhabitants tend to fall ill now and again. However, when an area is dirty and not controlled, its effect will eventually come upon people who live in places that are even clean since diseases are spread from one place to the other.
Let us cast our minds to the various drainage systems, market areas, transport terminals and streets we find around us. How do they look like? How do we keep them?
Taking the drainage systems, does water flow freely through them or are they filled with various forms of refuse and stagnant water? The markets, transport terminals and our streets, are they kept clean always by us?
If our answers to the above questions are YES, then let us congratulate each other and keep it up! However, if we answered NO, then let us start now for it is never too late to be more concerned with keeping our environment clean. For this will help avoid further pollution of our environment and will also make us work on the mess we have already created without adding on.
Let us not leave it for any particular group of people, but rather let us all get involved in one way or the other by constantly reminding each other to keep our surroundings clean be it in our homes, churches, schools, market areas, transport terminals and on our streets.
Having an attitudinal change towards keeping our environment clean is the key for good health.
