Lil Nas X has trust issues after his wardrobe malfunction on SNL, and who can relate?
On May 24, the singer appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon wearing a plaid skirt.
He tweeted photos of his ensemble before the show aired and because he can’t get dressed without making people angry, he also let everyone know the real reason behind his outfit choice – besides wanting to look fire, that is.
To those who had something to say about the choice of wardrobe? “Stop asking me why I'm wearing a skirt. I will never trust pants again!” he tweeted.

If you somehow missed Lil Nas X’s big Saturday Night Live debut or the wave it caused on the Internet the following day, he ripped his pants in the middle of his performance.
Right on the pole. And, of course, he handled it with the grace and charm we know him to have.
He talked about the wardrobe malfunction with Jimmy Fallon, saying, “I was pretty much going down the pole, you know, doing my little sexy drop-down, and boom. I feel air.
There’s definitely a breeze going on, and I feel some popping. I was like, ‘Just please don’t be on TV already.'
You know what the worst part is? At the end of the performance, the dancers are supposed to, like, touch me and tug on me. And they were tugging on the pants. I was like, ‘Please, God no.’"
Well, speaking of feeling air, we hope Lil Nas X's skirts era is upon us because frankly, he knows how to rock one.
The singer is pretty widely known these days for his bold fashion choices, and a skirt season would fit in right at home with the rest of his style evolution.
“I’m trying to – no, I will build myself up as a superstar,” he said in an interview last year. “And fashion will be a big part of that.”
