The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has corrected the infographics they shared to update the public on the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.
This comes after the Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah pointed out that the EC had conflicting graphs for the Greater Accra and Upper East data.
Sharing the previous graphics, he noted that from the bar graph on the number of people challenged on their eligibility, Upper East and Greater Accra have 981 challenges filed per region.
However, the graph of Greater Accra was way taller than that of Upper East.
“The Electoral Commission of Ghana: These elementary errors are unacceptable!” Dr Boamah wrote.

But, in a new post on its Facebook page, the EC admitted making a mistake stating that the figure for Greater Accra, 981, was erroneously repeated for the Upper East Region.
“The Commission has today met with the Team responsible for developing the Infographs and made significant changes,” the EC indicated.

The election body insisted that all the other information given was correct. The EC assured the public of employing more rigorous methods going forward.
