The new league season for 2019/20 is expected to kick off on December 28. This blog will bring you the latest news about the Ghana Premier League clubs and other related information.
10:00am – It was a busy week for a couple of clubs as they engaged in friendly matches to put their sides in shape ahead of the domestic league. However, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have other plans in mind as they seek to be ready for the replay of the President Cup showdown which will come off on December 15. 11: 18am – Signings have been predominant in recent weeks. The latest is that Accra-based club Liberty Professionals have appointed David Ocloo as the team’s headcoach, the club announced on their Facebook page. The 35-year-old coach will be officially unveiled at a press briefing later. Speaking on the appointment, club CEO Linda Ansong explained why the club settled on Ocloo, “We liked David’s enthusiasm and fresh outlook on how to play football. 11:20am – Elsewhere, Berekum Chelsea have captured the signing of defender Ahmed Adams from Obuasi-based outfit AshantiGold. The former Asante Kotoko defender is happy to return to his boyhood club, "This is where I started, I called Chairman and he asked me to come. I have seen some new faces and we are expecting some old players to join me".

11:30am – The Ghana Football Association will begin a special integrity seminar for referees who have been selected to officiate in the 2019/2020 season from December 10th to 13th at the Pentecost Convention Centre near Kasoa.
Over 200 referees and assistant referees will attend the seminar, which will be led by renowned retired Mauritius referee Lim Kee Chong, who is Vice Chairman of the Referees Committee of CAF. Lim Kee Chong is also a member of FIFA's Referees Committee.
11:42 am – Asante Kotoko are expected to announce Maxwell Konadu as their new headcoach this afternoon after agreeing a reported two year contract with the Porcupines.
The 47 year old will replace Norwegian trainer Kjetil Zachariassen who was sacked few weeks ago following a woeful performance on the African terrain.
