A government statement signed by three ministers including a cabinet minister has proved insufficient in assuring residents at Adentan and Madina, that a deadly highway will be made pedestrian-friendly.
Monday morning has begun with residents there making good, their promise to demonstrate over the deadly highway that claimed another life last Thursday.
Three days after, you would think the well of anger is dry. Joy News checks at Adentan shows it is not. Scores began chanting, warming up to a morning of protest.

Myjoyonline.com provides live coverage.
Joy News presenter, Gifty Andoh Appiah reports, about a 100 protesters have hit the streets. They began at West Africa High School – the deadly site where the latest victim, a teenage student of the school died last Thursday.
Some of the protesters want to march to Madina. But some of their leaders want to stop at Adentan SDA junction.
A police blockade awaits them at SDA Junction – the junction where a 33-year-old woman was knocked down and killed some nine days ago.

It leaves thousands with no option than to pick a crossing spot on the 5.6kilometer stretch of the NI Highway. Choosing where to cross, when to cross, how to cross and the speed of crossing has come with fatal consequences.
A citizen’s count puts the deaths at 194. But police have disputed this figure, putting out 24 fatalities.
