Ghana is celebrating her 63rd Independence Day today, March 6, 2020.
While in previous years, the celebration was held in the country’s capital, Accra, President Akufo-Addo announced a rotation when his government took office in January 2017.
Today’s event will be hosted for the first time at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital.
This will be the second time the Independence Day parade is being held outside Accra and the first in the Ashanti region.
Last year the event came off at Tamale in the Northern Region.
It will be held under the theme "Consolidating Our Gains".
