A youth activist of the National Democratic Congress Mustapha Abubakar has lashed out at individuals behind the formation of the pro NPP group, Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA), describing it “as a group worthless of attention”.
According to him, members of the LMCVA, per their nation wrecking conduct has shown a lot of callousness, insensitivity and wickedness towards the millions of Ghanaians who queued to vote because they are engaged in a fruitless agenda ostensibly to divert the NDC government’s attention from delivering on its mandate.
“All the votes of the 2012 election were duly counted… the NPP is at the Supreme Court challenging the results because the votes have been counted…if the votes have not been counted, the NPP will not have been in court in the first place,” he added.
Mr. Abubakar who is also the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Micro-finance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) noted, that it will be absolutely needless for any member of the ruling party to form a group to rival the LMVCA.
“If there is any group that members of the NDC must spend their money, resources and energy to form, certainly, it should not be a counter group, but rather groups that will help prosecute President John Mahama’s vision for Ghana”.
“We have been given a mandate by Ghanaians to shape the destiny of this country with our Better Ghana Agenda, and we must focus on delivering…this LMVCA group is just engaged in diversionary tactics and we must not be forced to spend our time responding to them…it is not a group worth listening to,” he added.
The LMVCA, a pro NPP with the aim of rallying support for the flag bearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and co on their challenge of results of the December 2012 elections at the Supreme Court.
At its maiden launch at Dome, a suburb of Accra, leading members of the group made inciting comments, which have attracted condemnation from sections of the society, mostly supporters of the governing NDC party.
Considering the gravity of the comments, Mustapha Abubakar explained that “this is a matter for the security agencies to deal with, we have an able security force and if anybody wants to undermine the security of the country he should be dealt with.”
He called on all members of the NDC to put their shoulders to the wheel and help the President to oil the wheels of governance while “we build a prosperous country for all to live in…the success of the President will come through the hard work of all of us”.
