The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Ghana 2008 Africa Cup of Nations Cup has expressed its gratitude to President John Agyekum Kufuor, CAF President Issa Hayatou, members of the CAF Executive Committee, Heads of the National Football Associations and the football public for their support during the official Draw of the competition last week.The LOC in a release signed by Magnus Rex Danquah, the Chief Operating Officer said the "the LOC also wishes to express its profound gratitude to the good people of Ghana for their continuous support of the activities and events of the LOC."The statement also appealed to all institutions both public and private whose actions can add to the efficient and effective preparation for the tournament to act in a timely manner in their quest to host a successful event.Rex Danquah urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the technical team and playing body of the Black Stars to do their utmost best in their preparations to help win the competition for a record fifth time come February 10, 2008.The Black Stars are paired against the Syli Nationale of Guinea in the opening game of the biennial event on January 20, 2008.The Official Draw of the 26th edition of the continent's showpiece soccer event came off on October 19 at the International Conference Centre in Accra.Source: GNA
