First Lady, Lordina Dramani Mahama, has in a Christmas Message encouraged Ghanaians to look out for others who may be disadvantaged and help them to also celebrate the Christmas and New Year festivities. Arguing that it is easy for individuals and families to forget their neighbours in need, children in orphanages and others in hospital, Mrs. Mahama said a return to the days of old, when families are interested in what happens to their neighbour’s children will contribute greatly to tackling some of the challenges that confront our value system as a country. Mrs. Mahama who is spending the holidays with her husband, President John Mahama, and their children, in South Africa, said the yuletide offers Ghanaians another opportunity to unite, come together and care for each other. “Over the years I have spent every single Christmas with inmates of various orphanages across the country and also other vulnerable goups, and I know that despite government interventions, we must also support each other”, the Message noted. Mrs. Mahama asked Ghanaians to also use the occasion of the yuletide to pray and thank God for his blessings over Ghana and for the peaceful and successful elections.
