A businessman who has been a customer of the country's telecom giant, MTN, and Emirates Airlines for many years had his loyalty rewarded when he was crowned Top Customer of the Year under the joint promotion run by the two companies.
Mr Kwame Kwakye, a regular traveller on Emirates Airlines and one of the pioneer customers of MTN, emerged as the winner of the MTN-Emirates Close User Group Offer (CUGO) promotion, earning a fully sponsored return ticket to Dubai.
The winner was randomly selected from MTN subscribers who travelled using the CUGO platform within the past year.

Mr. Kwakye, a regular Emirates traveller, praised MTN's services, saying, "For me, it's MTN or no other." He appreciated the recognition, stating, "As a postpaid customer, it feels great to be recognised".
At a ceremony to present the prize to him, Senior Specialist for High Value Segments at MTN Ghana, Sandra Oduro, explained that the promotion is part of MTN's strategy to become a lifestyle enabler, offering discounts of up to 12% on Emirates economy and business class tickets.
Under the promotion, the winner receives a return ticket sponsored by Emirates, alongside enhanced international roaming connectivity support from MTN,” she said.
She added that MTN has also provided the winner with eSIM international roaming services to ensure uninterrupted connectivity while in Dubai, as well as additional high-value services to enhance their travel experience.
Ms. Oduro noted that the travel date remains flexible, allowing the winner to choose a convenient time.
Sandra Oduro announced that MTN plans to reward more loyal customers through the partnership this year, encouraging subscribers to use the Emirates CUGO platform for exclusive discounts and benefits. "The more customers patronise the platform, the more value and offers we can negotiate for them. Our goal is to build a global ecosystem where MTN customers enjoy lifestyle benefits wherever they go," she said.

Cecil Nana Tenkorang, Sales Manager at Emirates, described the partnership as impactful, highlighting its success in rewarding loyalty and driving engagement since 2014.
He noted that the winning ticket represents an experience with Emirates, saying, "To our winner, you have earned more than a ticket; you have earned an experience with Emirates." Tenkorang reaffirmed Emirates' commitment to Ghana, emphasizing its contribution to tourism growth and international connectivity.
The MTN-Emirates partnership, launched in 2014, aims to deliver added value to customers beyond traditional telecom services, and an exceptional air travel experience has rewarded many loyal customers of MTN and Emirates Airlines.
