President John Dramani Mahama has gathered all his ministers at the Volta Regional capital, Ho, to assess their performance in 2015.
The result of the assessment, Joy News gathered, would form the basis for an impending reshuffle in the Mahama-led government. It is premature to tell which ministers would be affected by the reshuffle.
The meeting is also being attended by presidential staffers and high-powered government officials as well as the Vice President.
“The retreat, which is also been attended by Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, presidential advisers and staffers, will be an opportunity to review strategies for the implementation of key policies earmarked in the 2016 budget and other initiatives outlined for outdooring in the State of the Nation Address,” a statement from the Office of the President said.
Though the meeting is not opened to the media, snippets of information picked up by Joy News’ Volta Regional correspondent, Mawuli Yevu-Agbi suggest that the assessment would look at each minister’s contribution to the socio-economic growth of the country.
Also, projects successfully executed as well those near completion would be a yardstick in measuring the ministers’ performances.
The meeting, Mawuli gathered, would look at promises contained in the National Democratic Congress’ 2012 manifesto vis-à-vis those achieved.
As the nation goes to a major poll this year, government officials are expected to come out of the meeting with strategies that would ensure a continuity by government.
The meeting is expected to end Saturday with a healthwalk through some principal streets of Ho.
