President John Mahama has extended an olive branch to aggrieved party members to get back on board as the NDC rolls out its 2012 campaign.
He was speaking at the party headquarters after he picked his nomination forms.
The ruling National Democratic Congress’ National Executive Committee has already endorsed him as the flagbearer and the party is expected to hold a special congress next week to approve his nomination.
Even before his nomination the president told party executives unity in the party is non-negotiable adding, he will do everything within his power to ensure unity in the party.
“It gives us a chance to pull this party together. And I want to use this occasion to call on everybody who has been a part of this party who for one reason or the other has felt aggrieved or has been hurt in the past by any utterances or anything that anybody has done to make them feel marginalized that they should put all those things behind them. Let’s come together as one family and go into this election.
“With the trust that has been reposed in me, I will use every effort that I have to be able to pull this party together,” he said.
