Mahama in Abuja for 67th Ordinary Summit of ECOWAS

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Abuja, Nigeria, for the 67th Ordinary Session of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Authority of Heads of State and Government.

The Summit, which is being chaired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria, is expected to yield concrete outcomes and deliverables to fast-track West Africa’s integration agenda as a critical foundation for sustainable peace, security, and prosperity in the region.

It also forms part of activities marking the ECOWAS at 50 celebrations on the theme “Stronger Together, For a Brighter Future.”

The Summit will also examine the issue of the three Member States of the Alliance of Sahelian States, who have departed from ECOWAS.
